Help Fix My Registry

RegToolThe registry is one of the most important parts of the Windows operating system. Frequent use of the operating system can lead to registry corruption, which causes problems like the slowdown of functioning, system crashes, and slow windows start up. Let me show you how I fix my registry, as well as prevent corruption.

The reasons behind this are the invalid entries that are placed in your system registry. These invalid entries are usually generated by uninstalling software, or even installing software that wasn’t written correctly or contains bugs.

Once the removal of these invalid entries is complete, you can significantly feel the speed increase in the performance of your PC. On the fixed PC you’ll notice smooth functioning of the computer as well as less time it takes to boot up.

There are various ways I use to fix my registry, but I’ve found the easiest solution is to get a program that automates the repair for me.  The registry is much too big and cryptic for me to effectively go in, find, and repair all the errors.  That’s why I harness the power of my computer and use an application to do the dirty work for me.

Although it costs a little bit of money up front, I’ve received far more value from my registry cleaning application when it comes to fixing my registry.  I’ve used it quite a few times over the years, and it has really helped keep the performance of my PC running great.

Another great function of a registry cleaning application is the ability for it to create backups of the registry, just in case disaster strikes.

The process of creating a backup of your registry can easily be done without one of these programs, but I find it much easier to click a button than having to manually backup the registry myself.

However, if you’re one of those people who like digging into your computer and doing things the hard way (I’m often one of these types of people myself), here’s some instructions on how you can back up the Windows registry yourself.

Steps to back up your registry:

  • Click on the start button in Windows, then click on run option, then in the run box type regedit and then press ok.

  • Now click on the file menu and then click export. In the box select the bullet for Export range to “All”.

  • Select the file location where you want to save the backup and name the file (ie: backup.reg).  Also, remember to save it in a folder where you can easily locate it.

  • At time of crash or some problem with the registry one can restore the registry, for this reason we should frequently save the file where we can locate.

If that sounds like a hassle, or at all confusing, do as I do when it comes to fixing and maintaining my registry and get your hands on a registry cleaning application.  If you still have questions, take a look at our reviews of different programs and pick one that suits you best.
